Car selection in Europe. BMW X3 2.0D 2018

Alexander received his first residence permit in Spain and planned to move with his family. Alexander had two cars in St. Petersburg and he and his wife planned to move them with them to Spain.

According to Spanish rules, customs clearance of any car, if you have your first residence permit, costs no more than 2,500 euros. The cost of the car does not affect this. But there is a nuance: the period of ownership of the car must be more than 6 months. The cars were registered to a legal entity and did not fall under the preferential registration. Full registration is about 40% of the cost of the car in Spain.

According to our calculations, each car on the Spanish market cost about 60,000 euros. 40% for customs clearance is about 24,000 euros. That is, the final price of the car in Spain could be about 84,000 euros. Which is significantly higher than the market and when the car is subsequently sold, this money will no longer be returned.

Alexander's wife categorically refused to sell her favorite car, so they decided to sell one car and buy a new one in Spain, and leave the second in St. Petersburg.

The couple carefully approached the choice of a new car — they spent about three weeks visiting St. Petersburg showrooms, looking at different brands and models. At the same time, the Para2Move team consulted on the profitability of cars of specific brands in Spain, the cost of ownership and maintenance. The future car had to be suitable not only in terms of technical and aesthetic parameters, but also be the most effective investment.

In the end, they settled on a white BMW X3 2.0D with the required configuration.

During the week, the Para2Move team monitored European auctions, private ads and offers from showrooms and went out to inspect the car. In the end, the ideal example was found in Granada. The owner put the car up for sale on the local Avito, where it is not customary to sell cars. This resource is entirely in Spanish and it is almost impossible to find an ad by chance.

The car was in the required configuration, fully serviced, with a confirmed mileage of 18,000 kilometers and still under the manufacturer's warranty.

After the client confirms the car, we issue an invoice for the purchase and registration.
The registration itself for the new owner takes several days: the car undergoes a technical inspection, the numbers are changed, new insurance is issued and an agreement is concluded with the new owner. Where a private owner has to deal with paperwork for quite a long time, for a legal organization everything happens remotely and quickly through personal accounts at specialized services.

The final touches: washing and dry cleaning the interior, polishing the body and filling up the tank to full.

The new car was waiting for the family right at the airport. The owners were given the keys and documents.
