Porsche aims to break Nurburgring record in 2025

News
In the summer of 2025, Porsche intends to set a new record at the Nürburgring using an upgraded 911 GT3 model with a manual transmission.
The main goal is to beat the result of the Dodge Viper ACR, which has been holding for 8 years. In 2016, the American Dodge Viper ACR conquered the Nordschleife in 7 minutes 1.3 seconds. And apparently the guys from Porsche are definitely tired of this record.

A new record for the Porsche 911 GT3 with a manual transmission can significantly increase its popularity among car enthusiasts. A manual transmission is a key component of the Porsche philosophy.
Now the number of "pure" sports cars continues to decline, and Porsche clearly wants to demonstrate its commitment to tradition.
What do Porsche engineers say about the chances of success?
Porsche engineers primarily use data from previous races and wind tunnel tests to achieve the best possible result. The Porsche 911 GT3 will have modern tires and improved aerodynamics, and the modernization of the Nürburgring surface could play in favor of a new record.
Nurburgring Nordschleife
It is probably the most popular, most challenging and longest circuit for road cars, magazine tests, prototype testing and racing events.
The circuit originally had four track configurations: the 28.265 km long Gesamtstrecke ("Whole Track"), which in turn consisted of the 22.810 km long Nordschleife ("North Loop") and the 2.281 km long Sudschleife ("South Loop"). There was also a 2.281 km long warm-up loop called the Zielschleife, around the pit stop area.

The circuit is currently used for all major and international racing events, nicknamed the "Green Hell". The circuit is considered the most challenging built race track in the world.
