from Germany to Spain

The client is moving to Spain for his first residence permit. He has several luxury cars at home that need to be relocated.

We started calculating the cost of relocating our existing cars, and the numbers were sky-high.
We decided the best solution was to find and import a car from Germany.

We initially looked at a G-Class, but the insurance for a newly minted Spanish resident was prohibitive.

We ultimately settled on a Mercedes EQE 43 AMG electric car.

The car was a 2023 model, low mileage, rare, and very good value. There's a catch: Daimler sells new cars first in Germany. We had to convince the dealership that they should sell the car to us, using all our charm and loudly rustling the cash. The latter probably worked, because the dealership requested direct payment: the client was Daimler, no intermediaries.

As soon as the Germans approved the purchase, we flew to Germany, inspected the car, waited for payment, registered it temporarily in Germany, and drove to Spain. We also stopped by a detailing studio to have a protective coating applied to the body.

And another catch! It's impossible to insure against German transits under CASCO insurance. The couple of days on the road were a bit tense—the car costs almost two hundred thousand rubles, and there's no insurance. I had to be very careful when driving.

In Spain, they immediately issued temporary Spanish license plates and provided full insurance. Now the car is fully protected.

It took another three days to schedule the vehicle inspection, and by mid-January, the client will have new Spanish license plates.

A week for vehicle inspection and registration, three days for the vehicle inspection, plus five days for new Spanish license plates.
